Q3 of 24 Page 236

The radius and height of a cylinder are in the ratio 4:7. Find the radius and height of the cylinder if it's volume is 1188cu cm. Also, find the total surface area.

We have given the ratio of radius and height 4:7

Let Radius (r) be 4x

And Height (h) be 7x

The Volume of cylinder = πr2 h

Given Volume of cylinder = 1188

x = 1.5

Radius (r) = 4x = 4 × (1.5)

= 6

Height (h) = 7x = 7 × (1.5)

= 10.5

= 622.03

So, TSA of given cylinder is 622.03cm2, radius is 6 cm and height is 10.5cm
