How the formation of linguistic states helped in strengthening the foundation of democracy and the process of national integration in India.

The implications of the partition of India are:

A large scale displacement of people took place. They have driven away from their homes and had to seek refuge elsewhere. Refugee camps were set up but they were inadequately equipped. They suffered a major mental trauma due to this.


The communal tensions rose in different parts of the country which led to a huge loss of life and property.

The formation of linguistic states has helped in strengthening the foundation of democracy and the process of national integration in India in two ways:


It had led to a positive change in the democratic set up of the country. Now, more people could be involved in politics, instead of a small section of English speaking people.


It also paved the way to form state territories. There was no discrimination in the distribution of resources or any other matter, in terms of linguistic differences.
