The steps that the hnRNA undergoes before it is processed into mRNA are:


• Capping: Methyl guanosine triphosphate is added to the 5’ end of the hnRNA.


• Tailing: Adenylate residues are added to the 3’ end in a template independent manner. This forms a poly A tail.
