Mention the role of Restriction Enzymes in Recombinant DNA technology.

The role of restriction enzymes in rDNA technology is as follows:

a) They recognise a specific site and cut the DNA into fragments of sizes which are suitable for cloning purposes.


b) These enzymes bring about staggered cuts that create sticky ends which aids in formation of recombinant DNA.
