The disorder caused to the absence of one of the X-chromosomes in a human female is Turner syndrome, a condition which affects only females, resulting when one of the X chromosomes (sex chromosomes) is missing or partially missing in the individual. Such females are sterile because their ovaries are rudimentary and there is lack of other secondary sexual characters.
