Solve the following for x:

The given equation is-





After Cancelling out (b+2a) from both sides and taking reciprocal, we get-


⇒ -(4x2+4ax+2bx) = 2ab


⇒ 4x2+4ax+2bx+2ab = 0


⇒ 4x(x+a)+2b(x+a) = 0


⇒ 2(2x+b)(x+a) = 0


⇒ (2x+b) = 0 or (x+a) = 0


∴ x = (-b/2) or x = -a


Thus, the roots of the given equation are (-b/2) and -a.
