Area of shaded region = Area of the larger sector – Area of the smaller sector


Radius of larger sector = R = 5 cm


Radius of smaller sector = r = 4 cm


Central angle = 30° (= say, ∠A)


Area of the sector with central angle =


∴ Area of larger sector = cm2


Area of smaller sector = cm2


Area of the shaded region = cm2


= cm2


= cm2


= 33/14 = 2.36 cm2
