The sum of three consecutive even natural numbers is 48. Find the greatest of these numbers.

Let us write three consecutive even number series as 3

Consecutive even numbers = x,x + 2,x + 4

Sum of consecutive even numbers = x + x + 2 + x + 4

48 = 3x + 6

-3x = 6-48

-3x = -42

x = 14

(divide by 3 on both sides)

∴3 consecutives even numbers = x,x + 2,x + 4

= 14,14 + 2,14 + 4

= 14,16,18

Hence the above series biggest number
