Q86 of 113 Page 110

The sum of three consecutive numbers is 156. Find the number which is a multiple of 13 out of these numbers.

Let the 3 consecutive numbers be x,x + 1,x + 2

According to the given question

x + x + 1 + x + 2 = 156

3x + 3 = 156

3x = 156-3

3x = 153

x = 51

(divide by 3 on both the sides)

So the numbers are x,x + 1 + 2

51,51 + 1,51 + 2

51,52,53

∴52 is the multiple of 3
