x1 = –2 and x2 = 3


y1 = 2 and y2 = 2


⇒ D = √ ((3 – (–2))2 + (2 – 2)2)


⇒ D = √ ((5)2 + (0)2)


⇒ D = √ (25 + 0)


⇒ D = √ 25


⇒ D = √ (5 × 5)


⇒ D = 5
