The length of the shadow of a vertical pillar of length 12 m is 8 m. At the same time the length of the shadow of a tower is 56 m. Find the height of the tower.




Given,


length of the pillar = A1B1 = 12 m


length of the shadow of pillar = A1C1 = 8 m


length of the shadow of the tower = AC = 56 m


Let the length of the tower = AB be x m.


As seen from the figure,


ΔABC is similar to ΔA1B1C1
