State any two policies made by the Indian state in favour of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes are given many privileges and concessions according to the policies of the Indian state. The following are some of the policies that are made by the Indian state:


a. Caste Disabilities Removal Act, 1850:


This Act disallowed the curtailment of rights of the citizens of India because of the change of religion and caste.


b. Constitution Amendment Act, 2005(Ninety-third Amendment):


This Act introduced the reservation of seats in higher educational institutes for the other backward classes of the society.


c. Reservations:


Seats are reserved for the Scheduled Caste and Tribes in all forms of government organisations such as schools, colleges, jobs etc.,


These Acts enabled the members of Scheduled Caste and Tribes to enjoy better status in society.
