(a) The doctor must have injected the patient with performed antibodies or antitoxins (a preparation containing antibodies to the toxins) to protect him against the disease.


(b) The antitoxins injected into the patient’s body have antibodies which neutralize the pathogenic agents. This provides quick response against the pathogens.


(c) The disease is tetanus. The injection provides passive immunity against the pathogens.
