(b) Colostrum is a yellowish fluid secreted by mother’s milk during initial days of lactation. The Colostrum have IgA antibodies in abundant quantity. This IgA protect the infant. Colostrum provides immunity (resistance) to new born baby. Hence Colostrum is a boon to the new born baby. Colustrum provides passive immunity to the infants. It protects infants from various infections.
