State the functions of the following in the cloning vector pBR322 :

(i) Ori, (ii) rop, and (iii) Hind III sites


(i) Ori is the origin of replication site in cloning vector pBR322, which is a genetic sequence which acts as an initiation site for replication of DNA.


(ii) ROP in pBR322 is known as the repressor of primer, which is a protein which plays the role of regulating the copy number.


(iii) Hind III is an enzyme which is useful for cleaving DNA at specified sites. Thus, it can be used in pBR322 to cleave DNA at a specific site on pBR322 and used as a restriction enzyme.
