Mention any two human diseases caused by round worms. Name their causative agents and their mode of transmission into the human body.

Ascaris is common intestinal parasitic round worm, which causes ascariasis disease.

Causative agents are:


- Present in human feces found in contaminated soil.


- Caused by ingesting the eggs of roundworm Ascaris


- Also transmitted from uncooked food contaminated by soil that contains roundworm eggs.


Mode of transmission:


- Through poor hygiene.


- Transmitted from hand to mouth.


- Easily transmitted from infected person to another person.


- Walking barefoot on contaminated soil.


Another disease caused by roundworm is elephantiasis or filariasis.


Causative agents are:


- Caused by Wuchereria (W. bancrofti and W. malayi), the filarial


Worms.


- caused by parasitic worms.


Mode of transmission:


- bite by female mosquito vectors


- transmitted if having a high exposure to mosquitoes


- Through poor hygiene
