‘‘The Gross National Happiness is the measure of the country’s progress.’’ Evaluate the statement.

Bhutan was the first country to make the Gross National Happiness as an estimate of human development. When a country economically develops then the materialistic and technological development not only has an impact on the environment but also, on the cultural and spiritual aspects of people. Therefore, Gross National Happiness ensures progress of a country by focusing more on the spiritual, non-material and qualitative aspects of development.
