Distinguish between ‘protective irrigation’ and ‘productive irrigation’

Protective irrigation is used for protecting the crops from adverse affects of soil moisture. Its objective is to provide soil moisture to maximum area. Productive irrigation is used to provide only sufficient amount of soil moisture to the crops during cropping season. This ensures high productivity.
