Explain any three factors responsible for the development of Bokaro Steel Plant.


The Bokaro Steel plant is located in Jharkhand and was set up in 1964 with Russian collaboration. The three factors responsible for its development are:

• It gets the iron-core from the Rourkela region and then the coal is taken back to the Rourkela region.


• The other raw materials required by the plant comes from within the radius of 350 km.


• The Damodar Valley Corporation supplies water and hydel power to it.
