Hence, AD || BC and AD = BC


(i) In ∆ALD and ∆CMB, we have,
AD = BC


∠​ALD = ∠​CMB (90o each)


∠​ADL = ∠​CBM (Alternate interior angle)
∴ ∆ALD ≅ ∆CMB


(ii) As ∆ALD ≅ ∆CMB …from 1
∴​ AL = CM …by cpct
