In the given figure, lines l, m and n are parallel lines and the lines p and q are transversals. If AB = 5 cm, BC = 15 cm, then DE : EF = ?

Here, we have:

l ||​ m ||​ n


And p and q are the transversal lines


Thus, AB : BC = 5 : 15


AB : BC = 1 : 3


∴ Using intercept theorem,


DE : EF = 1 : 3
