Q22 of 178 Page 548

If (2p – 1), 7, 3p are in AP, find the value of p.

Since, the terms are in an AP, therefore

7 - (2p - 1) = 3p - 7

⇒ 8 - 2p = 3p - 7

⇒ 5p = 15

⇒ p = 3

∴ p = 3
