Q18 of 46 Page 1

A hemispherical bowl of internal diameter 36 cm contains liquid. This liquid is filled into 72 cylindrical bottles of diameter 6 cm. Find the height of the each bottle, if 10% liquid is wasted in this transfer.

For hemispherical bowl

Radius,

Liquid in hemispherical bowl = volume of hemispherical bowl

As 10% liquid is wasted, 90% liquid got transferred

i.e. 90% of 3888π cm3 got transferred.

i.e. 3499.2π cm3 got transferred.

For bottles,

Radius,

Let Height = h

Volume of 72 bottles = liquid got transferred = 3499.2π cm3

Volume of one bottle = 3499.2π/72 = 48.6π cm3

Volume of one bottle = volume of cylinder = πR2h

So,

48.6π = π(3)2h

9h = 48.6

h = 5.4 cm

Height of one bottle is 5.4 cm
