Q26 of 46 Page 1

Construct a ∆ABC in which AB = 6 cm, ∠A = 30° and ∠B = 60°. Construct another ∆AB’C’ similar to ∆ABC with base AB’ = 8 cm.

Steps of construction :

1. Draw a line AB = 6 cm

2. Draw ∠BAY = 30° and ∠ABX = 60°

3. AY and BZ intersect at a point C.

4. Join BC and AC to get ∆ABC

5. Now extend AB to B' such that AB' = 8 cm

6. Draw ∠AB'X = 60°

7. B'X intersect AY at C'

8. AB'C' is the triangle similar to △ABC
