Q18 of 46 Page 1

All the vertices of a rhombus lie on a circle. Find the area of the rhombus, if the area of the circle is 1256 cm2. (use π = 3.14)

In rhombus, AB = BC = CD = AD

Let the radius of circle be r.

Then AC = AO + OC = r + r = 2r

And BD = BO + OD = r + r = 2r

Now

Area of circle = πr2 = 1256 [ Given]

…[1]

Area of given rhombus = 2(400) = 800 cm2 [By 1]

From each end of a solid metal cylinder, metal was scooper out in hemispherical form of same diameter. The height of the cylinder is 10 cm and its base is of radius 4.2 cm. The rest of the cylinder is melted and converted into a cylindrical wire of 1.4 cm thickness. Find the length of the wire. (Use π = 22/7)
