If and x = – 3 are the roots of eq. ax2 + 7x + b = 0. Find values of a and b.

From the given equation;

As, sum of roots = – 7/a




a = 3


Also, the product of roots = b/a




⇒ b = – 6.


So, a = 3 & b = – 6.
