Write any three arguments in favour and two against Democracy as a form of government.

The arguments against democracy are:

• The leaders of the democratic nation keep changing. Hence instability in the system exists.

• Great political competition and power play, hence people tend to use unfair means to get into power.

• The discussion and consultation at various levels leading to the delay in any process.

• Electoral competition tends to increase corruption.

• Many people who cast a vote are naïve and illiterate and hence unaware of basic facts that lead to choosing of the wrong person.

The arguments for the democracy:

2. The demands of the people are fulfilled if it is within the principles of the constitution.

3. Free and fair election.

4. Every person has the right to cast their vote.
