Democracy has expanded throughout the 20th century. Explain with examples.

Century ago there were a few countries that had democracy, but now every country except few have to follow democracy.

A large number of countries are democratic. Still, there are some that are nondemocratic.

1. French revolution started in 1789 and established secured democracy in France.

2. The British colonies in 1776 declared themselves democratic.

3. With the advent of democracy, the people started demanding the right to vote, as despite becoming democratic including USA and Britain they abstained people from voting.
