In a democracy, the final decision making power must rest with those elected by the people. Justify

Democracy is a form of government where the rulers get elected by the people. The government formed acts for the welfare of the people and established equality in the country.

Every citizen plays an equal role in decision making. This means they should have the right to vote, right to be informed, right to be educated. The demands of the people are fulfilled if it is within the principles of the constitution.

Example: Parvez Musharraf was the army chief and president of Pakistan. In 2002 he issued the Legal Framework Order, according to this the provincial and national assemblies could be dismissed by the President. After this law, elections were held in the national and provincial assemblies, though the elected representatives had some powers the final power rests with the military officers. This framework was against the rule of democracy.
