Explanation:

i) On 16 May 1975, the monarchy was abolished and Sikkim became the 22nd state of the Indian Union, with Kazi Lhendup Dorji became the first chief minister of the state.

ii) Under Part XXI of the Constitution of India, which deals with "Temporary, Transitional and Special provisions", Article 370 of the Indian Constitution is a 'temporary provision' which grants special autonomous status to Jammu & Kashmir.

iii) The forest conservation movement in India where people prevent trees from being cut down is called the Chipko movement. It becomes a rallying point for many future environmental movements all over the world after it began in April 1973 in Reni village of Chamoli district, Uttarakhand.

iv) Operation Blue Star ordered by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, was an Indian military operation which occurred between 1 June and 6 June 1984. It was done to remove militant religious leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and his militant armed followers from the Golden Temple complex.

V) Maoist groups often cite the accumulation of unaccounted-for wealth in the hands of CPI-M leaders and specific failure to counter problems they were elected to address such as caste discrimination and poverty for their continued terrorist activities. West Bengal governed in the past by the elected Communist Party of India (Marxist) in India is one of the worst affected by these acts of terrorism.
