India is a religiously diverse country. The following statements can support this argument:

a. India has 80.5% of Hindus who are divided by caste and languages and follow diverse beliefs and practices.

b. 13.4% of the population are Muslims. India is the third largest Muslim country in the world after Indonesia and Pakistan.

c. The Christians are 2.3%, Sikhs are 1.9%, Buddhists are 0.8% and Jains are 0.4%.

All this percentage looks very small in number, they actually add up to large absolute numbers.
