Give two examples of caste-based movements.

The two major caste-based movements are:

A. Dalit movement- The term Dalit refers to the poor and the oppressed people. It is a commonly used term in the Indian language. This movement focused on exploitation in the economic area, political operation, lack of recognition as fellow humans, etc. Fe example, Mahar Movement in Maharashtra, Adi Dharma Movement in Punjab, etc.


B. Backward class and caste - These movements existed on the political front in the colonial and post-colonial era.
