Competing interests do not always reflect a clear class divide. Explain with suitable examples.

It is often is seen that different classes come into conflict for control over the resources of the state. For example the abolition of child labour.

The statement that is completing interest do not always reflect clear class divide is explained below:


a. The concept of competing for interest is based upon the social sense and the ability to control the resources of the state.


b. The main objective underlying this cause is to empower the poor and the marginalized sections of the society.


c. For example, an organisation is against the working of a factory because of the emission of toxic waste and the deteriorating health conditions around it. This is a matter of life and death, which is the responsibility of the Constitution of the country.


d. On the other hand, if the factory shuts down, it will lead to increasing unemployment situation and many people will become jobless. Livelihood is also an important part of the constitution.


e. At the time of the drawing of the constitution, the constituent assembly was aware of this competing interest. But it mainly focused on securing Social Justice as a guarantee.
