a. The National family planning programme was introduced with he aims to slow down the rate and pattern of population growth.


b. This was done by birth controls and improving public health standards.


c. Other coercive measures included vasectomy for men and tubectomy for women.


d. These measures were opposed by the people, especially the most common victims-poor and helpless.


e. These mass sterilisation methods were largely opposed by the doctors as well.


f. There were very less reliable family planning methods.


g. Later, this was changed to the National Family Welfare Program.
