a. English is now widely spoken in India. There are many famous literary works in English by the Indians.

b. The extensive knowledge of this language has given Indians an edge globally.

c. It was linked to social prestige and social status.

d. Although, the ability to speak and write this language is considered to be a privilege. If anybody doesn't know this language, he or she is considered to be disadvantageous in the market.
