How do desert lizards cope with the variations in their environment? Explain.

• Desert lizards cope up with high temperature of desert by making behavioural changes. They are able to keep their body temperature fairly constant.


• They bask in sun and are able to absorb the heat when their body temperature drops below the comfort zone and tend to move to a shaded area when the ambience temperature rises.


• Some species burrow into the soil to avoid the heat.
