How did the plant breeders produce suitable varieties of sugarcane forcultivation in North India? Why did they do it?

•Plant breeding is the method for the plants to create the desired plant types that are better for cultivation of sugarcane


•It is used to create the best quality cane

•With the help of this plant breeding , the two varieties of sugarcane I.e Saccharum barberi(sugarcane of north India ) and Saccharum officinarum (sugarcane of south India) were crosses


•Sugarcane can be grown in well – drained soil with pH of 6.5
