Name the two kinds of diabetes? Mention their symptoms and the causes.

The two kinds of diabetes mellitus and diabetes insipidus.


Diabetes mellitus is a condition which is caused due to undersecretion of insulin by beta cells of Islets of Langerhans of the pancreas. So excess glucose cannot be converted to glycogen and store in liver hence glucose amount increases in blood.


Symptoms:


a. High concentration of sugar in the blood.


b. Urine loaded with sugar is excreted.


c. Frequent urination


d. Thirsty feeling


e. Weight loss


f. Person becomes weaker


g. Loss of eyesight


Diabetes insipidus is a condition caused due to undersecretion of ADH/vasopressin from posterior lobe of pituitary gland. The role of ADH is to increase reabsorption of water from kidney tubules.


Symptoms:


a. Urination is frequent and copious


b. Loss of water from the body due to frequent urination.


c. The person feels thirsty.
