(x – 2) 2 – 25 = 0
(x – 2) 2 – 5 2 = 0

Using a 2 – b 2 = (a – b)(a + b)
(x – 2 – 5)(x – 2 + 5) = 0
(x – 7)(x + 3) = 0
x = 7,  – 3.
