∴ difference in height is 3m

And distance between their roots is 4m

⇒ it makes a right angled triangle

With height 3m

Base 4m

Hypotenuse = distance between their tops

Base² + Height² = Hypotenuse²

4² + 3² = Hypotenuse²

Hypotenuse² = 16 + 9 = 25

Hypotenuse = √25 = 5m

Distance between tops of trees is 5m
