Explain all the ways in which the Indian government supported the Green Revolution.

Green revolution was introduced under Five Year Plan of 1951 to make India free from the dependency of food grains from other parts of the world.

i. It made India self-sufficient for food grain requirement of a large population.

ii. It included modern farming techniques like HYV seeds, irrigation facility, machines and fertilizers to the farmers at low cost by the Indian government.

iii. The government of India provided above-mentioned techniques at very subsidized so that the farmers can utilize them.

iv. Mainly Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh made this revolution a success and increased their yield.
