Why is India said to enjoy a strategic position with respect to the international trade route?

i. The Indian Ocean connects India with the Africa and Gulf countries which provide India oil.


ii. It is also a centre between Africa and other East Asian countries which increases its importance in trade and culture of Asia.


iii. Its long coastline with the Indian Ocean helps India to control the trade of other countries.


iv. Its location in the Indian Ocean also helps India to connect with Australia and trade between them.


v. The Suez Canal which connects India and other countries to England also passes through India and provide an advantageous location.
