The Tropic of Cancer divides India into 2 equal parts. Discuss.

The Tropic of Cancer is a latitudinal line of 23.5 degrees.

i. It passes through 8 states of the country which includes Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Tripura, and Mizoram.


ii. The latitudinal extent of India is 8 to 37 degree. The middle of 8 and 37 is 23 degrees approximately which are the Tropic of cancer.


iii. Tropic of cancer experience two weather conditions- one is extremely hot weather when the temperature can get up to 46 degrees. Other is a warm winter when the average temperature is 20-25 degrees.


Therefore, The Tropic of Cancer divides India into 2 equal parts.
