Feminization of agricultural labor force leads to greater insecurity among women. Give reasons.

Green revolution was a major movement that led to the huge growth of agricultural surplus but it was initiated in some areas only. It remained restricted to areas of irrigated Punjab, Haryana and Western Uttar Pradesh. As the revolution focused on the production of wheat, it benefitted only wheat growing areas. Even this is not a complete truth because the regions under wheat, only those regions were benefitted which had assured water supply and a package of other inputs. Due to this, the share of all other states in the agricultural production declined. For example, the combined share of Northern states in total food production increased from 25.2 percent to 28.5 percent during the era of the green revolution.

Feminization is the process in which more and more women are involved in an activity. Feminization of agricultural labor force means the entry of more women in the field of production. It can lead to a certain type of insecurity among women because of their entry in the agricultural field women are overburdened with the responsibility of additional work that is household chores. They are paid less as compared to the man for the same job.
