Q13 of 25 Page 1

“Caste has become all too visible for the scheduled castes and tribes”. Give two examples from daily life to support this statement.

Castes has become all too visible for the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes because they continue to face social discrimination even after several decades of independence.

• They are neglected everywhere. Their financial status is also poor. Their children are deprived of education, health facilities, and other basic amenities.

• They have to compete harder in all fields than others despite the reservations in education and employment.

• Their issues are taken up by the political parties in their election’s manifestoes only for the sake of their vote banks and neglected once the party comes to power.

The problem is that they cannot afford to abandon their castes because it is one of the few collective assets they have.
