Find the lowest common multiple of the following expressions:

24x2yz and 27x4y2z2


Let u = 24x2yz

and v = 27x4y2z2


Writing u and v in factorized form which is as follows:


u = 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × x2 × y × z


= 23 × 3 × x2 × y × z


v = 3 × 3 × 3 × x4 × y2 × z2


= 33 × x4 × y2 × z2


Now selecting the common multiples from both u and v,


= 23 × 33 × x4 × y2 × z2


= 216 x4y2z2


Therefore the LCM of u and v = 216 x4y2z2
