Q3 of 35 Page 159

Read the lines given below and answer the question that follow:

Every time you look at him, it's, "Do something for me"...... You remind me of folks who give their kids piano lessons-They care about music? No.

Describe the incident which took place that made Carter say this to Cade. Explain why Cade reminded Carter of folks who give their kids piano-lessons.

Cade was already jealous because a handyman had been able to teach Freddie better than him, a qualified teacher, by handing him a simple helper for reading sentences. He commented on the jobs they had each been assigned, and asked Carter to stick to his, which Carter took as discrimination.

The conversation soon escalated to how Carter must have taken permission before letting Freddie play with another kid, and how studies and not games will help Freddie face the world. Carter attempted to make Cade realize that Freddie should be taught in a way suited to teach him, not some routine method to make oneself look good. When Cade didn’t take the above comments nicely, Carter was forced to tell him that he was being selfish just like those parents who enforce music lessons on their kids for their own satisfaction and not because it makes their children happy.
