Women are often blamed for producing female children. Consequently, they are ill treated and ostracized. How will you address this issue scientifically if you were to conduct an awareness programe to highlight the values involved?

• Women are often blamed for producing female children and more often they are ill- treated and ostraclsed for giving birth to a girl child, but women are never responsible fotr sex determination of child.

• As we know that in human male and female we have 23 pair of chromosome.

• Both male and female have 22 autosomes and one pair of sex chromosome.

• Male have two types of sex chromosome that is X and Y, and female have only one type of sex chromosome that is X.

• If the male X chromosome fuse with female ovum then the baby will be girl child.

• If the male Y chromosome fuse with female ovum then the baby will be boy child.

• Thus female is not responsible for sex determination of child infact male is responsible for this.
