Name the Green House gases that contribute to total global warming.

Carbon dioxide ( CO2) and methane (CH4) are commonly known as greenhouse gases because they are responsible for the greenhouse effect (The greenhouse effect is a process that is responsible for warming the Earth's surface. In this process, the Sun's energy reaches the atmosphere of the Earth, some of it is reflected back to space and the rest is absorbed and re-radiated by the greenhouse gases present in the atmosphere). The other greenhouse gases are nitrous oxide (N2O), Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), ozone (O3), etc.

Increase in the level of greenhouse gases over the years has led to the heating of Earth leading to global warming.
