What is Bio piracy? State the initiative taken by the Indian Parliament towards it.

Unauthorised or unofficial exploitation of biochemicals, bio resources and genetic materials by patenting them (which is exclusive ownership of anything) and restricting its use in the future without paying any fair compensation to the community of its origin.

Indian Parliament passed second amendment in the Indian Patent Bill which takes action towards Biopiracy.
